Carolina Panthers running back Miles Sanders has boldly predicted that quarterback Andy Dalton will be a future Hall of Famer.

Dalton, 35, spent nine seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals but has been with a different franchise each of the last three seasons - Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints.

The quarterback is now in Carolina, having joined like Sanders during this off-season, and is helping to train up the number one pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Bryce Young.

Across his 12 seasons in the NFL, Dalton has only managed to average a quarterback rating of above 100 once - back in 2016 - and he has lost all four play-off games he has started.

Dalton's four play-off games - all with the Bengals - have a combined total of one touchdown and six interceptions with the highest rating of any of his postseason games being 67.0.

Despite all that, former Eagles running back Sanders has named Dalton as a future Hall of Famer, telling WFNZ Sports Radio: "We got a very, very good young quarterback [Bryce Young].

"He is being mentored by a very, very, very good quarterback, a future Hall of Famer Andy Dalton - who I have a lot of respect for."

Speaking about his new Panthers team as a whole, Sanders added: "You've got guys like Adam Thielen mentoring the young receivers, and that’s a great guy to take notes from.

"We got a seasoned offensive-line that I love, I love watching their film, and the defense is stacked.

"These guys work, and that’s the main thing I’ve noticed in OTAs."

The Panthers face the New York Jets, New York Giants and Detroit Lions in preseason before opening up the 2023 season with a road trip to face NFL South rivals Atlanta Falcons.
