The Los Angeles Rams did not like what they saw in Week 9.

Carson Wentz has a new home in the NFL after being signed by the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday.

Wentz - the number two overall pick in 2016 - spent one season with the Indianapolis Colts and another with the Washington Commanders after his time with the Philadelphia Eagles came to an end.

His best season came back in 2017 when he led the Eagles to an 11-2 record with 33 touchdowns and just seven interceptions before tearing his ACL and being ruled out for the rest of the season.

However NFL fans know this did not stop the Eagles from going on to be crowned Super Bowl champions, so despite not playing in that postseason Wentz does have a ring to his name.

Now at the age of 30, Wentz has joined the Rams who have had a difficult few weeks on offense and have lost three straight games.

Last week the Rams - with Brett Rypien at quarterback for the injured Matthew Stafford - put up just three points in a 20-3 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Rypien's 130 passing yards, one interception and one lost fumble was the end of the line for the Rams, who waived the veteran quarterback.

Wentz fills the gap left by Rypien, and the former Eagles QB will serve as the back-up to Stafford going forward.

Stafford has been dealing with a thumb injury which kept him out in Week 9, thankfully for the Rams they are now on bye week so he should has enough time to heal and be back for Week 11.

If Stafford has not recovered in time, Rams fans will get their first look at Wentz in their Week 11 home match against the Seattle Seahawks.
