It was a tough 2023 for a certain Chargers receiver.

It was a difficult 2023 season for LA Chargers’ rookie wide receiver Quentin Johnston.

The TCU product made some crucial drops in a disappointing campaign, notably in the final minutes against the Green Bay Packers.

But 2024 brings a second chance for Johnston and the Chargers, with new head coach Jim Harbaugh in town and the departures of Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.

New Chargers GM Joe Horitz helped orchestrate a successful 2024 NFL Draft for the Bolts, which included the selection of second-round wide receiver Ladd McConkey.

But speaking to the Up & Adams show, Hortiz said he is expecting to see a better Johnston this season.

“When he was coming out of college, he was an elite size/speed athlete,” said Horitz.

“You saw some rawness to his game, but as big as he is at 6' 3", you watch him drop his weight, getting in and out of breaks, come to balance at the top of the route and get out quickly.

“He can do some rare things for a player his size. Jim [Harbaugh] was on the other sideline in one of his better games so we've all seen it, we believe in it.

“He's a great kid, he's a great worker. Everyone here has a high opinion of him, I believe he's really going to launch, I really do.

“His skillset is great, we're gonna work with him, make him better and better."
