The Bears quarterback was unable to continue against the Vikings.

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields was unable to finish their home defeat against the Minnesota Vikings after picking up an injury in the second half.

After being tackled while scrambling out of the pocket, Fields was taking straight to the medical tent for observation and never returned.

The initial reports list Fields with an injury to his right hand, though he has not been ruled out for any considerable time at the time of writing.

Chicago will hope their quarterback - who had a poor performance against the Vikings after back-to-back four touchdown games - will be back for their Week 7 game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Who is the back-up in Chicago?

With Fields ruled out, Chicago turned to undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent to finish off their loss to the Vikings.

The 23-year-old was promoted to the back-up in Week 4 ahead of veteran quarterback Nathan Peterman.

While Bagent could not lead the Bears to a comeback win against the Vikings, he did score a 1-yard rushing touchdown on his NFL debut.
