Brandon Aubrey has found his sport.

The longtime former soccer player made history on Sunday when he hit a 27-yard field goal for the Dallas Cowboys in the third quarter of their 43-20 victory against the Los Angeles Rams, a successful attempt that extended his perfect record to 18 straight field goals since he made his NFL debut.

It ties a rookie record set in 2015 by former Cleveland Browns kicker Travis Coons.

Aubrey, 28, played soccer for most of his life, starring for Notre Dame in the NCAA for four seasons before being drafted by MLS side Toronto FC in 2017. He didn't play a minute for the Canadian team during their treble-winning campaign, instead making 21 appearances for reserve side Toronto FC II that year before transferring to the Philadelphia Union's USL affiliate, Bethlehem Steel, in 2018.

Bethlehem released Aubrey after just one season and he left professional sports until 2022, when he was drafted by the USFL's Birmingham Stallions as a placekicker. Aubrey excelled for the Stallions in 2022 and 2023, leading to his signing with the Cowboys ahead of the current NFL campaign.
