At first glance, Week 3's Thursday night offering isn't the most inspiring of matchups — but first impressions can be deceiving.
With both the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars in the midst of rebuilds, one could wonder why their first meeting since 2018 was chosen to kick off this week's NFL action.
However, both teams have shown that they are far from mere cannon fodder, despite what their preseason odds may have indicated. Yes, the Dolphins are 0-2, but in both of their games they stuck around with much superior teams in the Patriots and Bills. Miami quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick rebounded from a poor opening-week outing to give the Bills defence fits in Week 2, and he'll be eager to continue that against a Jaguars team that isn't as polished.
That's not to say the Jags will be pushovers — Jacksonville surprised everyone by defeating the Colts in Week 1 before pushing the Titans to the brink last Sunday. Gardner Minshew put together two solid performces at QB to start the campaign, and all eyes will be on him (and his hair) against a Dolphins team that will be playing desperate football.
Here's everything you need to know about Thursday's broadcast.
