The Buffalo Bills got a huge 23-20 road win over their AFC East division rival New York Jets on Monday Night Football to improve to 4-2.
With there being plenty to unpack in this game, DAZN presents five takeaways from the Bills edging the Jets.
Is there a better QB on the feet than Josh Allen?
Flat out: There isn't anything Allen can't do on his feet. He demonstrated all the ways he can carve up a defense under the national spotlight of Monday Night Football.
For the Bills' first touchdown of the game, he played QB keeper and snuck it in the end zone himself.
Then, right before the half, Allen pulled a Houdini by ducking under a defender, rolled to his left and found Dawson Knox for a 12-yard touchdown.
Finally, on a crucial 3rd & 4 with 1:45 remaining, Allen took off and scrambled for the first down, forcing the Jets to burn their timeouts, effectively clinching the game.
Simply put — Josh Allen is a terror to deal with on the feet because defenses have to account for all his skills. There isn't anything the man can't do when his feet are moving.
Two touchdowns passing and another TD rushing Monday night are just a sample size of that.
The Bills got a great game from their rookie rusher
With running back James Cook out nursing a toe injury, the Bills got a solid contribution from their rookie rusher Ray Davis.
The fourth-round pick had himself a game, rushing for 97 yards on 20 carries, while adding another 55 yards receiving.
An excellent game from Davis when the Bills needed the boost from their backfield most.
Buffalo's defense stepped up
Whether it was crunching open-field tackles from safety Taylor Rapp or the sprawling, clutch interception from cornerback Taron Johnson, the Bills' defense came up with huge plays at the most opportune points in the game.
Their effort exemplifies that they're going to have Allen's back and will complement his brilliance on the other side of the ball — a hallmark of great teams as the Bills take sole possession of the AFC East, with every other team in the Jets (2-4), Miami Dolphins (2-3) and New England Patriots (1-5) all under .500.
Aaron Rodgers' Hail Mary in perspective
Rodgers airing out and converting on a 52-yard Hail Mary touchdown pass to Allen Lazard right before halftime was spectacular enough. But when you put the pass in perspective, it's even more astonishing.
Over the course of his 20-year NFL career, the four-time league MVP has produced four Hail Mary touchdowns. Here they are in all their gridiron glory:
Rodgers' penchant for the Hail Mary even sparked a social media conversation between Patrick Mahomes and LeBron James on X. It started when Mahomes offered: "Why is Aaron so good at that" and King James replied "Right!! It’s ridiculous!"
Amazing stuff from the future lock Hall of Famer.
The Jets' offensive line has to do better protecting Rodgers
Against the Bills, Rodgers was sacked three times for a loss of 22 yards. And each of those sacks looked like they banged up the 40-year-old Rodgers pretty good.
One of them even left the veteran QB rubbing his forehead on the Jets' bench.
Having fallen to 2-4 with Monday night's loss, the Jets' season is already reeling.
Well, it will be all but over if the Jets' O-line doesn't start protecting Rodgers better. He simply can't take punishment like this, meaning Gang Green under interim coach Jeff Ulbrich must devise a plan to bolster the offensive line, shoring it up enough to where Rodgers is protected in the pocket.
