Former NFL star Robert Griffin III has offered advice to the Chicago Bears should the Bears draft USC's quarterback prospect Caleb Williams.
The Bears own the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and many expect Chicago to draft Williams. Most draft experts see Williams as the best quarterback prospect available.
Earlier this week, Griffin made headlines for suggesting that Williams should refuse to join Chicago. Now, the former Washington Redskins QB has critical advice for Chicago.
On his RG3 and The Ones podcast, Griffin said, "The Chicago Bears don't have stability in the front office. To me, Chicago should extend the contract for head coach Matt Eberflus. The head coach needs three to four years to build and grow with Caleb Williams."
Griffin also warned the Bears not to repeat past mistakes: "When you have a rookie quarterback, and you're the Chicago Bears, and you haven't developed a quarterback in 100 years, don't do to Caleb Williams what you did with Justin Fields and Mitch Trubisky.
"Don't burden a rookie quarterback with a lame-duck head coach, and then hire a new head coach that may want his own quarterback or has his own ideas."
