The former Wales winger is continuing his bid to make it in the NFL.

Former Wales rugby union star Louis Rees-Zammit will reportedly visit the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday as he continues in his quest to become an NFL player.

The 23-year-old is part of the International Player Pathway Program which has been created to increase the number of NFL players from outside the USA and Canada.

After competing in the International Player Pathway Pro Day in Florida last week, Rees-Zammit has visited the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets and Denver Broncos, with his latest scheduled visit reportedly to be with the Chiefs, as per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

Rees-Zammit’s speed and elusiveness saw him win 31 Wales caps before he left club side Gloucester in January to join the NFL IPPP.

The 23-year-old ran a time of 4.44 seconds for the 40-yard sprint in last week’s pro day, but admitted he was not happy with his time.

“A bit disappointed in my 40,” he told AP. “Last week, I was getting some really good times. I was getting low 4.3s, high 4.2s. So it is what it is. It’s just what happens on the day. But I know I can run that fast.

“I’m not trying to make excuses or anything, but I know what I can do and I’m happy with the day and how the day went.”
