Two extremely familiar foes square off Saturday as the New York Giants visit the Philadelphia Eagles in the Divisional Round.
The teams meet for the 181st time, a product of both being in the NFC East. Even so, their latest two regular season contests couldn't have come any more recently, as they met on Dec. 11 and again on Jan. 8. Both of those games were victories for the Eagles, although the Week 18 matchup saw the Giants mount a late comeback that ultimately fell just short.
The Giants will also be buoyed by their victory over the favoured Minnesota Vikings on Super Wild Card Weekend, a round that the Eagles skipped as the top seed in the NFC. The rest may have been just what Philadelphia needed as quarterback Jalen Hurts is still feeling the effects of a throwing shoulder sprain suffered last month.
Hurts says he's good to go, and he played the full game against the Giants in the regular season finale, but he's still expecting New York to target his shoulder on Saturday.
"It's football. I've got a bounty on me every week I go out there on the field," Hurts said.
"So, I'm going to go out there and just play my game, and whatever happens, happens."
