Green Bay Packers' Jordan Love has a big financial incentive to beat the Dallas Cowboys

The thrill of winning a playoff game is motivation enough for NFL players, but Jordan Love also has a very tangible reason to lead his Green Bay Packers to victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Love took over as the Packers' starting quarterback after the departure of star pivot Aaron Rodgers, who moved on to the New York Jets ahead of the 2023 season. Rodgers' departure prompted the Packers to lock down Love on a new deal, as the team quickly signed the 25-year-old to a one-year extension with escalators that could see him earn as much as $22.5 million in the 2024 season.

One of those escalators can be achieved on Sunday, as ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Love would see his 2024 salary bumped by $500,000 with a win against the Cowboys in their wild-card game.

That's not all — according to Sportrac, Love would earn a cool $1 million each for a Conference Championship victory and Super Bowl win (as long as he takes 65% of the Packers' snaps in those games).

Not bad for a player who was a backup until this season.
