The veteran QB was released by the Raiders earlier this week.

Jimmy Garoppolo has found a new home following his release from the Las Vegas Raiders.

The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback was back on the open market this season, as the Raiders pulled the plug on the three-year, $72million contract he signed in Las Vegas last offseason.

The 32-year-old was benched on Halloween after he had returned a 3-3 record in the six games he started. Head coach Josh McDaniels, who Garoppolo had previously worked with at the New England Patriots, was also fired that day, with interim head coach Antonio Pierce and rookie QB Aidan O’Connell steering the team to an 8-9 record.

Garoppolo was hit with a two-game suspension for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drugs policy, which led to his release by Vegas.

He will now return to the NFC West, as the NFL Network report that the LA Rams have agreed terms on a one-year deal with the veteran. Garoppolo will backup Matthew Stafford after his two-match suspension has been served.

After beginning his NFL career as Tom Brady's backup in New England, Garoppolo was traded to the 49ers during the 2017 season, with his best season coming in 2019, where he led the Niners to a 13-3 record before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV.
