Following several difficult seasons with the Chicago Bears, Justin Fields is now a Pittsburgh Steeler.
Fields joins veteran Russell Wilson in Pittsburgh's quarterback room. Head coach Mike Tomlin has confirmed that Wilson is in 'pole position' for the starting job. Nonetheless, the door is open for Fields to go in and compete for the role.
And former Heisman Trophy winner and second-overall pick Robert Griffin III has sent a message to Fields.
"It's Justin Fields' job to prove to Pittsburgh that his potential is worth investing in," Griffin said on Get Up.
"Justin should come in, learn from a Super Bowl-winning quarterback and use that knowledge. And with Mike Tomlin saying Russell Wilson is in pole position, that lifts the pressure off Justin Fields."
Griffin likes Fields' chances in Pittsburgh, "I think Justin Fields can be the future quarterback for the Steelers. He gets a reset and has the best professional roster he's ever had.
"Justin Fields has to use the criticism as fuel to better himself. And I think he can."
