The Bengals star handed the franchise tag this offseason.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins has reportedly requested a trade.

The 25-year-old has spent four seasons with the Bengals and was a key part of the exciting offense that propelled the franchise to Super Bowl LVI, where they lost out to the LA Rams.

With his rookie deal expiring, the team placed the franchise tag on him this offseason, amid hopes that a long-term extension could be agreed, but now according to ESPN, the former second-round draft picks wants out.

Higgins struggled with injury last season, playing in just 12 games as he caught 42 passes for 656 yards and five touchdowns.

The ESPN report adds that Higgins is ‘disappointed’ that the team have not held any talks regarding a long-term contract extension since March 2023.

Under the terms of the franchise tag that the Bengals placed on Higgins, he is in line for a one-year $21.8million contract, unless either a trade or long-term extension is agreed by July.

During his four years with the Bengals Higgins has 257 receptions for 3.684 yards and 24 touchdowns, as part of a dynamic passing game alongside quarterback Joe Burrow and fellow wideout Ja’Marr Chase.
