Many believe there will be a run on quarterbacks in next month's draft.

Quarterbacks are set to dominate next month’s NFL Draft, with many pundits expecting the first three picks off the board to all be QBs.

The Bears, Commanders and Patriots currently hold the top three selections in the draft and all have let their 2023 starting quarterbacks leave this offseason.

Caleb Williams has been widely tipped to be selected first overall by Chicago, while Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels are expected to quickly follow.

The likes of J.J. McCarthy, Michael Penix Jr and Bo Nix are also receiving attention, with several quarterback vacancies remaining around the NFL.

This could all lead to fireworks on the opening night of the NFL Draft in Detroit and after the Arizona Cardinals said they are open to trading their fourth pick, the LA Chargers have also alerted QB-needy teams that they could be willing to do business with selection number five.

“We’ll see how it goes,” Chargers general manager Joe Horitz told the team’s website. “It’s still early and the phone is not ringing yet because we’re still a month or so out.

“But I’ve had teams ask me and are gauging my interest. Certainly, as I said before, I’m open to all options when it comes to the draft. I’m not locked into any one spot — forwards, backwards, staying right there.”

Horitz added that he believes as many as six quarterbacks could go in the first round.

“It’s a great quarterback year, it really is,” he added. “You look at the guys and everyone is saying there could be six quarterbacks in the first round and that’s fair. That really is.

“It’s a unique year. It could create some opportunity for us but we’ll see how the draft unfolds.”

Like the Cardinals, the Chargers have a franchise quarterback in place, with Justin Herbert about to enter his fifth year with the team.
