The Chiefs will look different for their regular season finale.

The Kansas City Chiefs are locked into the No. 3 seed in the AFC.

They will play their final regular season game of the campaign tonight when they travel to face the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chargers are 5-11 and are already building for next season, and they'll theoretically have an easier time of it this weekend as the Chiefs are planning on resting several key players ahead of what they hope is another long postseason run.

As such, Blaine Gabbert will step in for superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes, with the 34-year-old relishing the chance to show what he can do.

“It’s a great opportunity,” Gabbert said. “I told the young guys out at walkthrough, ‘Just have fun’.

"A lot of guys are going to have a great opportunity to go play for the first time, make a start for the first time.

"I’ve been fortunate to start quite a few games in the NFL, and these opportunities don’t come around very often, just make the most of them, have fun, cut it loose, just go play ball.”
