Being named a cover athlete for EA Sports' popular Madden franchise is one of the highest honours an NFL player can achieve off the field of play.
Legendary figures like Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Barry Sanders and John Madden himself have all graced the cover of the popular video game over the years, and Madden 25 features an MVP candidate and reigning Offensive Player of the Year.

Who is on the cover of Madden 25?
San Francisco 49ers star running back Christian McCaffrey is on the cover of Madden 25.
McCaffrey had a dominant season with the 49ers in 2023, scoring a league-leading 21 touchdowns and extending his team record streak of consecutive games with a TD to 17. The 28-year-old added five more TDs in the postseason, and finished the season as the NFL leader in rushing yards, touches and Yards from Scrimmage.
"To be on the cover of Madden NFL is a career achievement and an honor I share with all of my teammates, coaches and 49er Faithful who have helped make it possible," McCaffrey said. "I'm pumped to get back on the field this year to give Madden players more reasons to keep scoring touchdowns with me in Madden NFL 25."
Madden 25: Release date
EA Sports also revealed the release date for the game. Madden 25 will be released August 25, 2024, on Xbox, PlayStation and PC, with pre-orders available to grant players early access.
