Both teams have playoff aspirations.

The Miami Dolphins travel to the Los Angeles Chargers on the opening weekend of the 2023 season.

After reaching the Wild Card playoffs last season, the Dolphins will be looking to go deeper into the postseason, but that will hinge on the fitness of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa who missed five games in 2022 including the playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills due to multiple concussions.

The Chargers also reached the Wild Card playoffs in 2022 before losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars and expectations are once again high going into this upcoming season with the arrival of Kellen Moore as offensive coordinator after improving Dak Prescott under centre for the Dallas Cowboys.

Now Chargers fans will be hoping Moore can have the same effect on Justin Herbert, who is one of the NFL's most exciting offensive talents.
