The Minnesota Vikings are red hot to start the 2024 NFL season, and Sam Darnold is a big reason for their 4-0 record.
Darnold led the Vikings to a 31-29 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at Lambeau Field, with the quarterback engineering a 28-0 lead at halftime for his team.
The Packers fought back valiantly in the fourth quarter but ultimately fell just short, and Darnold put himself into the record books.
The 27-year-old connected on 20 passes from 28 attempts, with three touchdown passes and 275 passing yards.
It was the fourth straight game that Darnold threw 10 or more passes, and since the Vikings won all four of those games, he joins Patrick Mahomes as the only NFL quarterbacks this century to win their first four contests with a new team while connecting on double-digit passes.
Darnold signed a one-year contract with the Vikings after spending last season with the San Francisco 49ers as Brock Purdy's backup.
Before that, the 2018 third overall draft pick spent two years with the Carolina Panthers and played his first three seasons with the New York Jets.
