Are the Buffalo Bills preparing for a trap game?
The Bills (4-1) spent a lot of emotional energy in their 18-point victory over the Kansas City Chiefs last week, exacting a tiny bit of revenge on Patrick Mahomes and Co. after last season's AFC Championship. Now the Bills have to refocus after eight days of reading their own press as they look to continue their momentum from a regular season game that helt like it took place in the playoffs.
Coming off such an emotional high can often lead to a letdown in the following contest, especially against a team deemed "lesser" by both their record and consensus. Not that the Tennessee Titans are a bad team in the slightest — they will almost surely be in the playoff conversation when the regular season draws to a close — but the Titans (3-2) are not considered to be on the level of a Super Bowl contender like Buffalo.
None of that will matter when the teams meet for "Monday Night Football" in Nashville, as the Titans have enough weapons to cause problems for the visiting Bills in the Music City.
"This is one of those be-careful games for the Bills, who could be caught in a letdown after beating the Chiefs on the road Sunday night," writes CBS Sports' Pete Prisco. "The Titans beat the Bills last year by playing a lot of zone coverage to slow down the offense. But this Titans defense isn't very good. The Titans' offensive line also has issues. The Bills will win the game, but [Tennessee running back] Derrick Henry will keep the Titans in it."
