Week 1 will feature the only Monday doubleheader of the 2020 season.

The biggest night of the NFL week returns as "Monday Night Football" opens the 2020 season with a doubleheader.

It'll be the only time two games are played on a Monday this year, with the Steelers visiting the Giants in the early matchup before the Broncos play host to the Titans for the late kickoff.

Monday will see the return of one perennial Pro Bowler while another is sidelined. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is slated to see his first game action since suffering an elbow injury in Week 2 of the 2019 season, and the 38-year-old returns to a team that oddsmakers have given an outside chance of winning it all.

Meanwhile, Broncos linebacker Von Miller suffered an ankle injury on Sept. 8 that could keep the Super Bowl 50 MVP out for the season. It's a big setback for a Broncos team trying to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2015 — the same year Miller led the team to the championship.

Here's more info about the matchups, plus everything to know about how to watch "Monday Night Football."

Who plays on "Monday Night Football" tonight?

  • Matchup: Steelers at Giants
  • Location: MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

This contest could mark the debut of Canadian rookie receiver Chase Claypool, who has been turning heads in Steelers training camp. Even if the Abbotsford, B.C., native doesn't see the field, Pittsburgh is still expected to put on a show as Roethlisberger's return will provide a boost to a darkhorse title contender.

  • Matchup: Titans at Broncos
  • Location: Empower Field at Mile High in Denver

Miller's injury has put a damper on the Broncos season ahead of a Week 1 matchup with a well-rounded Titans team. Despite the lack of fans, Denver's mile-high advantage will still be in play, but will it be enough for the work-in-progress Broncos to claim an early upset?
