It's an all-AFC North matchup on "Monday Night Football" as the Baltimore Ravens visit the Cleveland Browns.
The teams are both chasing the Steelers for divisional superiority, but more realistically they're trying to cement their places in the postseason. The Ravens (7-5) sit third in the AFC North amid a slump that has seen them take just two wins from their last six games. It's a post-bye week skid that has taken the team from a legitimate Super Bowl contender to a playoff bubble team in the span of a few weeks, although Baltimore heads into Monday's contest having won its previous game (a 34-17 victory over the Cowboys that marked the return of quartback Lamar Jackson from the COVID-19 reserve list).
Jackson and the Ravens have handled the second-place Browns (9-3) already this season, opening the season with a 38-6 beatdown that betrays Cleveland's quality. The Browns won four straight immediately after that opening-week loss, and they've remained hot with QB Baker Mayfield leading the way.
Like their teams, Mayfield and Jackson have established a bit of a rivalry. The pivots have faced off four times, with Jackson winning three of them while averaging 234.8 passing yards, with nine TDs and two interceptions overall. Mayfield's numbers are similar even though his team has come out on the losing end more often than not, with the 25-year-old Cleveland QB averaging 276.5 passing yards with seven TDs and six INTs in meetings with Jackson and Co.
Now, with playoff positioning on the line, the two young stars will be under more pressure to perform.
