If you like mismatches, this week's "Monday Night Football" game is the one for you.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-2) head to New Jersey to face the New York Giants (1-6) in a game that's as lopsided on paper as any so far this season.
Interestingly, it's the Giants who have reigned supreme in recent years, with New York having claimed six of the past seven meetings between the teams. The most recent game was a nailbiter of a victory for the Giants, who outlasted the Bucs 32-31 on Sept. 22, 2019.
Of course, any of those recent victories for the Giants came over a much different Tampa Bay squad. The Bucs have transformed into a legitimate contender in the NFC with Tom Brady pulling the strings at quarterback, led by a league-best 222 points scored over seven games (their 31.7 PPG is second in the NFL, behind the Seahawks' 33.8 PPG).
For the Giants to have the kind of success they're used to against the Bucs, they'll need to figure out a way to stop Tampa's Brady-led high-octane offence. Considering the Buccaneers have been held under 25 points just twice so far in the 2020 season, it'll be easier said than done.
