The NFL have confirmed that the 2024 Hall of Fame Game will be between the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans.
The Hall of Fame Game is the traditional preseason opener and will take place on Thursday, August 1 in Canton, Ohio at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
The fixture takes place ahead of this year’s Hall of Fame induction, with three former Bears in Devin Hester, Steve McMichael and Julius Peppers set to be enshrined this year, while former Texans wideout Andre Johnson will also be receiving his gold jacket that weekend.
Dwight Freeney, Randy Gradishar and Patrick Willis are the other inductees in the class of 2024, with the ceremony taking place on Saturday, August 3.
The game itself could potentially see the Bears’ number one draft pick suit up for the first time, with Chicago expected to select Caleb Williams in next month’s NFL Draft.
The Texans will be looking to build on a successful 2023 season in which they won the AFC South, and defeat the Cleveland Browns in the Wild Card Round before the Baltimore Ravens beat them in the Divisional Round.
Last year’s Hall of Fame game saw the Browns see off the New York Jets 21-16.
The full NFL schedule for the 2024 regular season is expected to be released in May.
