On Thursday, the NFL announced the players of the month for October in the AFC and NFC.

AFC

Offense: Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens' quarterback earned his fourth career Player of the Month award after a dominant month in which he threw for 12 touchdowns on 86 of 128 passes, racking up 1,241 yards and just one interception. Jackson added 193 rushing yards during that period, leading the AFC in passing yards, touchdown passes, passer rating (126.5) and rushing yards by a quarterback.

Defense: Will Anderson, Houston Texans

Anderson had 17 tackles in Weeks 5-8, with seven of those for loss. He also had five sacks, a fumble recovery and a pass defensed in October.

Special teams: Chris Boswell, PIttsburgh Steelers

The Steelers kicker had a 100 percent success rate on 12 attempts in October, the only kicker in the NFL with a perfect record on 10 or more attempts. Additionally, Boswell led the AFC with 46 points.

NFC

Offense: Jared Goff, Detroit Lions

Goff topped the league in two major QB statistics, making 80 percent of his passes and sporting a passer rating of 149.8. This is his second Player of the Month nod, after becoming the third player in league history to record a passer rating of 125 or higher in four straight games.

Defense: Xavier McKinney, Green Bay Packers

McKinney was busy in October, recording 19 tackles, three passes defensed, two interceptions, a fumble recovery and a sack. The Green Bay safety was the only NFL player with multiple interceptions, a sack and a fumble recovery over the course of the month.

Special teams: Chad Ryland, Arizona Cardinals

Ryland made game-winning field goals in Weeks 5, 7 and 8, becoming the first kicker in three years to record three game-winning field goals in the final two minutes of regulation or in overtime across a four-game span.
