On Wednesday, the NFL announced the players of the week for the AFC and NFC in Week 14.
AFC
Offense: Ja’Marr Chase, CIncinnati Bengals
Chase was integral to Cincinnati's offense in a 27-20 win at Dallas on Monday Night Football, with 177 receiving yards on 14 catches. The Bengals' wide receiver scored two touchdowns in the victory, earning him his fourth-career Player of the Week award.
Defense: Zach Sieler, Miami Dolphins
Sieler received his first-ever POTW honour thanks to a dominant defensive performance in Miami's 32-26 overtime win over the New York Jets, with four tackles and two sacks.
Notably, both of Sieler's sacks came in the fourth quarter, the most in the AFC this week.
Special teams: Matthew Wright, Kansas City Chiefs
Wright was in the thick of things for the Chiefs as he converted all four of his field goal attempts in Kansas City's 19-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
The most memorable of those successful FGs was the "doink" to win the game with no time left on the clock, earning Wright his second-career POTW nod.
NFC
Offense: Sam Darnold, Minnesota Vikings
Darnold recorded a 157.9 passer rating in Week 14 with five touchdown passes and zero interceptions on 347 yards as he led the Vikings to a 42-21 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
The video game numbers put up by Darnold earned him his second-career POTW award.
Defense: Yetur Gross-Matos, San Francisco 49ers
Gross-Matos led the league in sacks in Week 14 with three sacks from four tackles in total as the 49ers defensive lineman helped he team claim a 38-13 victory over Chicago.
This is the first POTW nod for the fifth-year player.
Special teams: Bryan Bresee, New Orleans Saints
Breese was clutch in the dying seconds of New Orleans’ 14-11 victory at the New York Giants as he blocked the potential game-tying field goal to help secure the win.
The Saints defensive tackle was the only player to record a block on a fourth-quarter FG attempt in the league in Week 14, earning him the POTW honour.
