The Arizona Cardinals have confirmed that they are open to trading their number four overall draft pick in next month’s NFL Draft.
The Cards’ 4-13 campaign in the 2023 season means that they sit behind only the Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders and New England Patriots at the top of the draft.
Unlike the three teams in front of them, the Cardinals already have their franchise QB in Kyler Murray, ahead of a draft in which the first three picks are expected to be quarterbacks.
Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort left no doubt when he addressed the issue of a potential trade on Wednesday.
"There will be a big neon sign that says 'open' and I don't like it blinking, it messes with my eyes, but we're always going to be listening,” he said as per NFL Network.
"I think we'll always have the conversation, we may not get to a point where a deal makes sense, whether it's at [No.] 4 or anywhere we're picking, but we're always going to have the conversation and if it makes sense, if it's attractive to building our team, then it's something that we'll certainly consider no matter where we're at in the draft."
Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison has been the consensus pick for the Cardinals in most mock drafts, but could we now see a team come in and disrupt the opening few picks? The draft takes place between April 25-27 in Detroit.
