Thursday Night Football will bring a sense of normalcy to 2020 — at least in the broadcast and scheduling sense.
The start time for this week's season-opener between the Kansas City Chiefs and Houtson Texans is the same as it will be for the remainder of the season.
A kickoff time of 8:20 p.m. ET is scheduled for each Thursday night contest, offering consistency to the schedule. However, there will be several other aspects of the Texans vs. Chiefs game (and presumably all others to follow) that will be different that in years past, most notably the lack of fans in Arrowhead Stadium. While the Chiefs are one of the few teams that have received clearance to allow a small percentage of their stadium's capacity to be filled, the atmosphere will surely take a hit as the sporting world continues to deal with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
