Here is the current state of play in the NFL's coaching search.
Hired head coaches

Following Bill Belichick's exit, the New England Patriots hired Jerod Mayo as their new head coach. A former Patriots player, Mayo served as an assistant coach under Belichick. Mayo is the first African-American head coach in Patriots history.
Carolina Panthers - Dave Canales
The Carolina Panthers hired 42-year-old Dave Canales as their new head coach. Canales was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator in 2023. His work with quarterback Baker Mayfield did not go unnoticed. The Panthers have inked a six-year contract with Canales.
Tennessee Titans - Brian Callahan
The Titans snapped up Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan. Callahan has played a vital role in Joe Burrow's development, and the Titans will hope that he can do the same for young quarterback Will Levis.
Atlanta Falcons - Raheem Morris
Raheem Morris is back in Atlanta. The 47-year-old was the Falcons' interim head coach in 2020. He was then part of the LA Rams' Super Bowl triumph in 2021-22. Known as a ferocious leader and sharp defensive mind, Morris now gets his first shot at a head coaching job.
LA Chargers - Jim Harbaugh
College champion Jim Harbaugh is back in the NFL. Harbaugh returns to the NFL with a College Championship tucked in his pocket. Harbaugh has previously coached in the NFL. He managed the San Francisco 49ers from 2011 to 2014.
Harbaugh led the Niners to a Super Bowl appearance. The 60-year-old will be desperate to take that final step and win the Vince Lombardi Trophy with the Chargers.
Las Vegas Raiders - Antonio Pierce
The Raiders have given former interim head coach Antonio Pierce the full-time head coaching job. Popular amongst players and fans, Pierce was the no-brainer hire for Las Vegas.
Seattle Seahawks - Mike Macdonald
Mike Macdonald and the Seahawks put pen to paper earlier this week. Macdonald joins Seattle after a stellar season as Baltimore's defensive coordinator. At 36 years old, Macdonald is the youngest NFL head coach.
Washington Commanders - Dan Quinn
On Thursday, the Commanders announced that Dan Quinn had joined them as their new head coach. Quinn has led an NFL team before. He coached the Atlanta Falcons for five seasons, leading them to a Super Bowl appearance. Quinn's experience and defensive nous should help him settle in quickly at Washington.
