<p>The NFL salary cap is often a basis for discussion among fans and pundits as it informs teams how much they can spend on players.</p>

<p>As part of the collective bargaining agreement negotiated between the NFL and the NFL Players Association, the salary cap is fixed as a percentage of the league's revenues.</p>

<p>Here's what the salary cap is for the 2023 season and where it is projected to go over the next few years.</p>

<h2>NFL Salary Cap 2023: How much money can all teams spend?</h2>

<p>The salary cap for the current season is a record $224,800,000, according to <a href="https://overthecap.com/salary-cap-space" target="_blank">Over The Cap</a>.</p>

<p>That's an increase of $16.6 million from 2022, or 7.9%.</p>

<h2>NFL Salary Cap: How much will it rise?</h2>

<p>As mentioned, the cap is directly tied into league revenues and as such it fluctuates depending on how much money is expected to be brought in across the NFL.</p>

<p>Over The Cap expects the base salary cap to continue to rise over the next three seasons, topping $300 million per team in 2026.</p>
