The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback was visibly unhappy after the Week 13 loss.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes painted a very unhappy figure on the sidelines after Sunday's loss against the Buffalo Bills.

It was a great game of football between two sides who have played out many classics in the last few seasons alone - with the Chiefs often coming out on top.

This time, however, it was Buffalo celebrating as time expired, as Josh Allen and Co. held on in the fourth quarter for a 20-17 win at Arrowhead.

Things could have been very different though, as a 49-yard go-ahead touchdown was ruled out for offsides on Kadarius Toney - who would go on to score on the play.

The mistake was not Toney's first of the season. In Week 1 he tipped an easily catchable pass to a Detroit Lions defender who returned the ball for a touchdown.

However, Mahomes has spoken words of encouragement for his wide receiver, telling ESPN that Toney's mistakes are "not going to define" him.

"You're going to make mistakes. Stuff's going to happen in your life," said Mahomes.

"How do you accept that adversity and get past it and do it the right way?

"You make one mistake, that's not going to define you. It's going to be how you respond to that mistake.''

Toney will have his first chance to make amends on Sunday as the Chiefs travel to New England to face the 3-10 Patriots.
