There is plenty of competition for snaps at wide receiver.

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay has been discussing his options at the wide receiver position as the team return to training camp ahead of the 2023 season.

Cooper Kupp is well established as the Rams' top target and first choice wide receiver, while Van Jefferson is second on the depth chart at the position.

Behind those two the picture is more murky, with a handful of players expected to use training camp as an audition for snaps at wide receiver come the start of the season.

McVay named several players who are in contention for the wide receiver three position, but spoke very highly about one player in particular.

"It is really early but Tutu Atwell is a guy who has done a really excellent job," McVay told the media at training camp .

"He is super smart, obviously he is well known for his speed but he has done a great job in the offseason and it showed today.

"He established himself, played with aggressive hands and understood the nuances of how we want to work edges and separate and where he fits within those concepts."

Atwell was not the only player named by McVay however, who added: "Puka Nacua is another guy, Ben Skowronek has played football for us and you saw Demarcus Robinson and Tyler Johnson make plays.

"So the beauty of this team in general is that there truly is competition and that is something for us to evaluate and find out who the best 11 guys are on offense, defence and special teams.

"I was ready to just answer a couple guys but then I thought about practice, it is certainly a good problem for us right now."
