The San Francisco 49ers tout one of the NFL’s most high-powered offenses.
And they used it to dominate and overwhelm the Seattle Seahawks, 31-13, on the road in a Thanksgiving Thursday Night Football tilt from Lumen Field. Christian McCaffrey led the way with 114 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 19 carries, while Deebo Samuel had 79 yards receiving and a rushing TD himself. Over on defense, Niners' cornerback Charvarius Ward was spectacular, only allowing one completion for 14 yards while being thrown at seven times.
Samuel and CMC did a bulk of their damage in the first half, moving the ball down the field when and where they wanted to with little resistance. Samuel got the Niners on the board first and McCaffrey produced his two touchdowns in the second quarter to help San Francisco take a commanding 21-3 lead.
That lead would turn into 24-3 at halftime as a result of the Seahawks muffing a punt return, which the 49ers were able to recover and convert into a field goal.
Although the Seahawks got a Jordyn Brooks interception return for a touchdown and tacked on a field goal to pull within 24-13 of the 49ers in the third quarter, that's as close as they'd get.
The fourth quarter had McCaffrey reading a block perfectly to rumble for 12 yards and into Seahawks' territory, where Brock Purdy would air out a 28-yard touchdown strike to Brandon Aiyuk a few plays later. That and an extra point made it 31-13, which stood.
With the dominant victory, the 49ers improve to 8-3, giving them cushion atop the NFC West over the Seahawks (6-5).
The two teams will clash again on December 10 in San Francisco.
