The running back recently signed a one-year contract with the franchise.

New York Giants running-back Saquon Barkley has expressed his desire to spend the rest of his career at the franchise.

This did not seem to be the case during the summer when Barkley and the Giants were unable to agree on a multi-year deal before the July 17 franchise tag deadline, but the two parties did agree to a one-year deal which keeps the 26-year-old at MetLife Stadium.

From the outside looking in, some may assume that Barkely's future does not appear to be in New Jersey, however the running back was quick to squash any rumours of animosity between himself and the Giants.

"Oh, yeah. I don't think that really changed. They know how I feel. I'm not really too focused on that right now," Barkley told the New York Post's Paul Schwartz when asked about whether he would like to remain a Giant for life.

"Once I made the decision I was going to show up and I was going to be there and do my job, you got to put all that aside. Got to be mature about it.

"We made a decision; you got to put it to the side; you got a job to take care of. I'm here, and I'm ready for the season.''

Barkley and the Giants get their 2023 season underway on September 10 when they host division rivals the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.
