Will he play?
That's the question on the minds of the Dallas Cowboys (5-1) faithful this week ahead of a "Sunday Night Football" encounter with the Minnesota Vikings (3-3), after a report surfaced that Dak Prescott received platelet-rich plasma injections to helped with a strained right calf muscle.
Prescott suffered the strain two weeks ago in a win over New England, which was followed by a well-timed bye week for the Cowboys. But the 28-year-old is still feeling the effects of the injury, hence the PRP injections amid a race to get the quarterback ready for Sunday's game.
Even with the urgency of a looming game, the QB isn't eager to take too many risks.
"If it was my call and it was totally up to me, yes,” Prescott said earlier this week about the possibility of suiting up. “But this is something I agree with the experts. I don’t want it to linger. I don’t want this to be week after week, ‘Are we going through this?’
“To me, it’s just about getting better, controlling what I can.”
To that end, Prescott will be a game-time decision on Sunday, literally, as he reportedly plans to go through the normal pre-game warm-up routine before deciding.
Should he not be able to go against the Vikings, backup QB Cooper Rush would make his first NFL start after taking all the reps in practice throughout the week.
