This year's Super Bowl halftime show will feature another legendary act with more than 100 million people set to tune in.

While the Super Bowl is the highlight of the NFL calendar and the climax of a gruelling five-month season, the contest also gives music fans one of the key events of the year. 

The Super Bowl halftime show is one of the biggest and most watched musical performances in the world, as every year an audience of more than 100 million people tune in to watch one of the world’s biggest acts perform.

Who is performing at the Super Bowl halftime show?

This year will see R&B icon Usher perform at the Super Bowl halftime show. 

Apple Music, the headline sponsor of the event, have released a teaser trailer for the show, featuring a number of famous faces, in what could be a hint at who could be joining Usher on stage, including LeBron James, K-pop star Jungkook and Colombian rapper J Balvin.

The 45-year-old is celebrating 30 years since the release of his debut album "Usher" in 1994 and is famous for hits such as You Make Me Wanna…, Pop Ya Collar, U Remind Me, Yeah! and Burn.

Usher will release his ninth studio album "Coming Home" two days before his performance on Friday, February 9.

How many people watch the halftime show?

Last year saw Rihanna set a new record for the most-watched halftime show in the event’s history, as 121 million viewed the performance, narrowly pipping Katy Perry’s 2015 performance. 

Other recent performers have included Dr. Dre and Eminem (2022), The Weeknd (2021) and Jennifer Lopez and Shakira (2020).

When is the Super Bowl?

This year’s Super Bowl - the 58th editon - takes place on Sunday, February 11, 2024. 

Where is the Super Bowl taking place?

Super Bowl LVIII will be the first Super Bowl to be played in Las Vegas at the 71,000-capacity Allegiant Stadium. The stadium cost $1.9 billion to build and has been home to Las Vegas Raiders since the team moved from Oakland in January 2020. 

The past two Pro Bowls have been played at the venue, which has also hosted several international and club soccer games, plus a host of big-name music acts such as the Rolling Stones, Elton John, Taylor Swift and Beyonce.
