The 2023 NFL season is just around the corner, and teams are back in training camps as they prepare for another campaign.

Current Super Bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs will have their eyes firmly fixed on winning another Vince Lombardi trophy, while a whole host of teams will fancy their chances against Patrick Mahomes and company.

Only one team from each of the NFL's eight divisions is guaranteed a place in the play-offs, with three more from each conference being handed wildcard spots.

Here are favourites to win each division in the 2023 NFL season, per odds from online bookies BetVictor.

(Odds are correct at time of writing)

AFC North

Cincinnati Bengals 6/5

Joe Burrow's Cincinnati Bengals are the marginal favourites to claim the AFC North title, though the Baltimore Ravens are heavily fancied by many.

The Bengals are the current AFC North champions, but the Ravens spent large chunks of 2022 without star quarterback Lamar Jackson who is back for 2023.

The Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers are by no means out of the equation. The 11/2 odds available on the Steelers are the second shortest of any NFL division's 'outsider'.

AFC South

Jacksonville Jaguars 8/13

Unlike the AFC North, the AFC South has a clear favourite in the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Trevor Lawrence led his side to the AFC South title in the final game of the season in 2022 and stunned the Los Angeles Chargers in the play-offs by coming from 27-0 down to record a famous comeback win.

The Tennesee Titans, who have just added DeAndre Hopkins, are expecting to pose the biggest threat while the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans would be shock winners.

AFC East

Buffalo Bills 6/5

The AFC East is shaping up to be the most exciting division in the 2023 NFL season and one of the hardest to predict with three of the four sides having genuine claims.

The Buffalo Bills are the favourites to take down the division, but only just ahead of Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins.

Even as the divisions outsiders, you can never truly rule out the New England Patriots, who are 7/1 to win the division they dominated for years.

AFC West

Kansas City Chiefs 4/7

Tied for the shortest odds of any team to win a division is the reigning Super Bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs, while only one team has higher odds to win a division than the Las Vegas Raiders who are 10/1.

Head coach Andy Reid has led the Chiefs to seven straight AFC West titles, and in 2023 the Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos once again have the unenviable task of ending that run.

The Chargers are most fancied to topple the Chiefs with Justin Herbert back to full health, but with Sean Payton now head coach of the Broncos there is renewed optimism at Mile High.

NFC North

Detroit Lions 7/5

From the shortest priced favourite to the highest and the Detroit Lions, who for the first time in a while have expectations on their shoulders.

They are not strong favourites however, with the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers all at 4/1 odds or shorter.

At 4/1, the Packers are the outsiders for the first time in years following the departure of Aaron Rodgers, and they will now begin life with Jordan Love at quarterback.

NFC South

New Orleans Saints 5/4

The NFC South is another difficult division to predict, with all four teams likely to begin the 2023 with a new quarterback.

The New Orleans Saints are the favourites, with former Raiders signal caller Derek Carr now under centre at Caesers Superdome, ahead of Atlanta Falcons and rookie running back Bijan Robinson.

The number one pick in the 2023 NFL Draft - Bryce Young - will try defy the odds with Carolina Panthers and division outsiders Tampa Bay Buccaneers will begin life without Tom Brady.

NFC East

Philadelphia Eagles 10/11

The Philadelphia Eagles are favourites to win the NFC East once again, having done so in 2022 on the way to a Super Bowl appearance.

Dallas Cowboys are predicted to be the biggest threat to the Eagles in the division, while the New York Giants will be hoping to build on a promising 2022 season.

At 9/1 the Washington Commanders are the outsiders of the group, as they turn to sophomore quarterback Sam Howell.

NFC West

San Francisco 49ers 4/7

The San Francisco 49ers are tied with the Kansas City Chiefs as the shortest priced division favourites, having won the NFC West in 2022 on the way to an appearance in the NFC Championship game.

The Seattle Seahawks and rejuvinated Geno Smith will look to claim their first NFC West title since 2020, and have the best hope of dethroning the 49ers.

The Los Angeles Rams will have Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp back fit for the start of the season, while the Arizona Cardinals are the highest priced team to win a division in 2023 at a huge 25/1.
