The five worst Super Bowl television commercials

The five worst Super Bowl television commercialsDAZN
There are some commercials which fans will want to forget.

Some commercials during the Super Bowl are remembered fondly by fans, but there are also some which they would rather forget.

Advertisers try their utmost to make the commercials standout during one of the year's biggest sporting events, but sometimes the ideas can stretch too far and don't quite work.

DAZN takes a look at five of the worst television to air during the NFL's biggest game.

GoDaddy - Perfect Match (2013)

Instead of a commercial which kept viewers interested, GoDaddy instead had a commercial which made viewers feel uncomfortable.

During this particular commercial, two people made out with the sounds amplified and it's safe to say it did not go down well leaving viewers to question what they have just watched.

Outpost.com - Gerbil Cannon (1999)

Outpost.com's attempt at making a Super Bowl commercial was an unmemorable one.

The company decided the best use of its airtime was to fire fake gerbils out of a cannon leaving just one word on the minds of viewers, why.

Apple - Lemmings (1985)

In the year prior, Apple had produced one of the best commercials to be broadcast during the Super Bowl.

With high expectations, it was interesting to see what the technology company would come up with next. Unfortunately, Apple's commercial in 1985 was a dark one with business workers whistling "Heigh-Ho" before falling off the side of a cliff.

Again, another Super Bowl commercial where the message is not exactly clear.

LifeMinders.com - The worst commercial (2000)

Sometimes it is best to admit that a commercial is the worst to be shown during a Super Bowl and LifeMinders.com did exactly that.

Little expense was spared during the 30 second commercial which opened with the message 'This is the worst commercial on the Super Bowl'. This was followed by a number of messages shown on screen promoting the business whilst being soundtracked by an eerie piano.

Miller Lite - Evil Beaver (1998)

At first glance, Miller Lite's Super Bowl commercial offering was an amusing one featuring a man dressed up as a beaver riding a dirt bike.

However, the beaver would then go on to destroy a log cabin built by some builders before drinking a glass of Miller Lite.

This was another commercial which left viewers scratching their heads as to how it promotes a popular beer brand.
