The NFL is set for another busy quarterback market this offseason.

The NFL Scouting Combine takes place in Indianapolis this week in what is the first big event of the offseason.

After teams have had a chance to get first-hand intel on the latest batch of NFL hopefuls at the combine, free agency will follow a fortnight later and the draft will take place in April.

As ever, several teams will be in the market for a new quarterback, whether that’s via free agency, a trade or the draft.

Here are seven teams that could be ready to reload in the QB position this offseason.

New England Patriots

A new era begins for the Pats this year, with Jerod Mayo replacing Bill Belichick as head coach. And one of his first decisions will be what to do at quarterback with Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe both underwhelming last year.

The Pats own the third pick and while it’s likely that whoever drafts in front of them will snag a QB, it would be a surprise if Mayo and company don’t follow suit.

Atlanta Falcons

A lack of productive quarterback play cost Arthur Smith his job last season, with the inconsistency of Desmond Ritter meaning that the pre-season hype around the Falcons fell flat and the team limped to a 7-10 season.

Another team with a new head coach in Raheem Morris, the Falcons have pick number eight in the draft.

Denver Broncos

All signs point to Russell Wilson being out in Denver and a line being drawn under what will go down as one of the worst trades in recent NFL history.

While Wilson improved last season, his benching for the final two games of the season was a pointer that they were considering moving on.

Washington Commanders

A new head coach, a new ownership group keen to make a statement and the second pick in the draft all point to the end of Sam Howell’s time in Washington.

If Caleb Williams goes first as expected, it should boil down to a choice between Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels.

Pittsburgh Steelers

A tougher one to call, as the Steelers have something of a messy situation. Kenny Pickett didn’t kick on last year, with back-up Mason Rudolph taking the team into the playoffs, but is either man the future for the Steelers?

Las Vegas Raiders

The Jimmy Garoppolo era is set to be short-lived in Vegas, with the former 49ers QB expected to be cut amid an upcoming two-match suspension.

Rookie Aidan O’Connell was steady but not spectacular, so all options will be on the table for new head coach Antonio Pierce.

Chicago Bears

The Bears are currently on the clock and what they do with their first overall draft pick will shape a huge chunk of the NFL’s offseason. Plenty believe that they will hold onto their pick and select Caleb Williams, trading away Justin Fields in the process.

There are plenty of teams above that would welcome Fields with open arms, so expect some more clarity over what happens with this year’s quarterback market once they reach a decision.
