Who are the top five players available for a trade?

The NFL trading window closes at 4 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. UK / 10 p.m. CET on October 31. Several star players could move teams, and it could change the destinies of teams as the season goes on. Here are the top five players available for trade.

Brian Burns - Edge, Carolina Panthers

With the Panthers 0-6 and without a first-round draft pick for next year's draft, the Panthers are prime candidates to trade away players. Star defender Brian Burns is the shining light on Carolina's roster, and Carolina should get many offers from contending teams. At 25 years old, Burns is in his prime and has consistently performed since entering the league in 2019.

Through six games, Burns has recorded four sacks and ten quarterback pressures. Last season, Burns enjoyed the best season of his career as he tallied 12.5 sacks. The Florida State University product will be a free agent at the end of the season, and the Panthers have not agreed a deal with him. The NFL covets pass-rushers that can consistently sack quarterbacks. Burns is arguably the best player available.

Chase Young - Edge, Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders declined Chase Young's fifth-year option earlier this year. That left Young in the final year of his rookie contract, and progress has been slow on any new contract. Washington drafted Young with the second overall pick in 2020, and he has endured an injury-plagued career. Young has routinely missed games, and concerns about his availability and health still linger.

However, when healthy, Young is one of the best young pass-rushers in the NFL. So far in 2023, Young is in the top eight in recorded quarterback pressures, averaging over six per game. He is also in the top ten for individual pass-rush win rate. Young is set to be a free agent at the end of this season, but so is his teammate Montez Sweat. Sweat plays the same position as Young, and Washington is unlikely to hand new contracts to both. Young would be available for trade at the right price, and when healthy, he is a high-impact player.

Derrick Henry - Running Back, Tennessee Titans

With the Titans at 2-4 and sitting bottom of the AFC South, this particular squad is ending its journey. Derrick Henry has played his part in Tennessee's recent success but now might be the time to move on. Henry is now in the final year of his contract, and if the Titans choose to rebuild, he could be on the move.

The 'King' is one of the best rushers of recent times. In four different seasons, Henry has rushed for over 1,000 yards. His bruising running style is a fit for many teams, and as the weather gets colder, running the ball becomes much more critical. Henry is the perfect player if potential contenders desire a change-of-pace runner to add physicality.

Jerry Jeudy - Wide Receiver, Denver Broncos

When asked about potential trades, Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton told the press anything was on the table. The Broncos are 1-5 and staring at the abyss. With a massive rebuild on the cards and needing draft picks to supplement what they lost when they acquired Russell Wilson, Denver is perhaps the team to watch at the trade deadline.

Wide receiver Jerry Jeudy has never clicked in Denver. Injuries and questions about his attitude may deter some teams. Nonetheless, Jeudy is an explosive playmaker known for game-breaking speed. A product of the Alabama Crimson Tide wideout factory, Jeudy has all the physical tools, and at 24 years old, time is on his side. Any team wanting an X-Factor on offense could be interested in Jeudy.

Hunter Renfrow, Wide Receiver, Las Vegas Raiders

Hunter Renfrow is an intelligent, rugged, and consistent slot receiver. Rumors have spread like wildfire that the Raiders are offering him to many teams around the NFL. It certainly feels like Las Vegas no longer has a role for him. In the game against the New England Patriots, Renfrow played seven snaps out of 70. Renfrow has just six catches this season.

However, he is two years removed from a Pro Bowl season, and at 27, he is not old. Renfrow will hit free agency at the end of this season. A team could trade for him on trial and evaluate him before free agency. Renfrow is precise in his route-running, has a knack for finding open spots, and is an excellent teammate.
