The 2024 Draft could be crucial to the future of the Bears franchise.

The end of the 2023 NFL regular season is just four weeks away, and while some teams are gearing up for the playoffs, others already have their sights on the offseason and 2024 NFL Draft.

Of the teams already turning their attention to the next draft, the Chicago Bears have some big decisions to make, as the current draft order has the NFC North side picking twice in the first five selections.

That includes the number one overall pick, which they acquired in a trade from the Carolina Panthers last year.

Through 14 weeks, the Panthers have the worst record in the NFL at 1-12, and unless they have a huge change in fortunes in December that will likely remain the case.

The only question that remains is who will the Bears take with the first pick? DAZN looks at three possible selections.

Caleb Williams - QB USC

The biggest decision the Bears have to make is at quarterback, and whether or not Justin Fields is the player to take them forward.

Fields has already had his highs and lows in the NFL - including strong performances in Week 11 and Week 14 of this season - but many believe the temptation to draft USC quarterback Caleb Williams will be too great.

For a while now, Williams has been predicted to be the first pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, but his 2023 season at USC has highlighted a few weaknesses in his game.

Nonetheless, throughout his college career Williams has thrown for over 10,000 yards while completing 67% of his pass attempts - for 93 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

Williams remains a lot of people's prediction for the number one overall pick, but he is not the only quarterback who Chicago could turn to.

Drake Maye - QB North Carolina

The other quarterback - should the Bears decide to move on from Fields - which Chicago could turn to with the first pick is North Carolina's Drake Maye.

Maye has a more conventional style than Williams, a pocket passer who at 6'4" and 230lbs is the size of a classic NFL quarterback.

The 21-year-old's numbers are not as eye-catching as those of Williams, but he did top 8,000 passing yards with a 65% completion rate for 63 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.

What has to be taken into account when comparing the numbers is the - at times - woeful protection Maye was provided at North Carolina which regular forced him into difficult spots.

If a quarterback is selected by the Bears, expect it to be Williams or Maye. Which one is currently anyone's guess.

Marvin Harrison Jr. - WR Ohio State

Outside of the quarterback position, perhaps the biggest name on offense going into the 2024 NFL Draft is wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

Son of the former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison Sr. - who won Super Bowl XLI and has since been inducted into the Hall of Fame - a lot is expected of the Ohio State receiver in the NFL.

If the Bears decide to stick with Fields as their quarterback, one of the biggest priorities will be finding him another quality receiver to complement DJ Moore.

And there is no doubting Harrison Jr's quality. The wide receiver backed up his 1,263 yard 14 touchdown season in 2022 with an almost identical statline of 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2023.

As things stand, the Bears also have the fifth overall pick in the draft. If they do opt for a quarterback with the first pick, they may still have a chance to draft Harrison Jr. a few picks later.
