A pair of NFC teams square off as the Packers visit the 49ers.

It's a rematch of the NFC Championship game as the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers face off on "Thursday Night Football."

In that game, the 49ers (4-4) built up a huge first-half lead en route to a comprehensive 37-20 victory. San Francisco abandoned all pretense of a passing game, instead depending on running back Raheem Mostert's postseason franchise-record 220 rushing yards and four touchdowns to lead the offence.

While Mostert's brilliance led the 49ers to a Super Bowl berth, they'll have to make do without him on Thursday as the 28-year-old is on injured reserve with a high ankle sprain. It's one of the bigger differences in the Niners' offence ahead of this matchup, with another being that Nick Mullens will be taking the snaps instead of injured incumbent Jimmy Garoppolo. And there's more bad news for the Niners' offence, as tight end Greg Kittle was also placed on IR.

The Packers (5-2) won't have any quarterback controversy as Aaron Rodgers remains the man in Green Bay. The 36-year-old is playing some of the best football of his career, with Rodgers' season QB rating the highest its been since 2011. Rodgers was prolific in last season's NFC Championship, passing for 326 yards and two touchdowns, and he'll need those kinds of numbers again if the Packers are going to break San Francisco's staunch defence.

With both teams coming off losses to divisional rivals, there will be plenty of motivation for each to claim victory on Thursday.
