Could the seven-time Super Bowl champion be back in action this season?

Tom Brady has admitted that he could be tempted back to the NFL - if the conditions are right.

The 46-year-old announced his retirement from the game in February 2023 as he called time on a career that saw him win seven Super Bowl titles and set a host of all-time NFL records following a 23-year career with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

His retirement announcement came 12 months after initially announcing he was hanging up his cleats after the 2022 season, only for him to reverse that decision and return for a final season in Tampa Bay.

But after sticking to his word and watching the 2023 campaign from the sideline, Brady clearly still has the itch.

“I’m not opposed to it,” Brady said when asked on DeepCut with VicBlends if he would consider a return if a team in contention lost their starting quarterback to injury late on a season.

“I don’t know if they’re going to let me, if I become an owner of an NFL team, I don’t know. I’m always going to be in good shape, always going to be able to throw the ball. So, to come in for a little bit, like MJ coming back, I don’t know if they’d let me, but I wouldn’t be opposed to it.”

Brady’s reference to Michael Jordan comes as he looks to become a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, citing the basketball legend’s precedent when he played for the Washington Wizards for two seasons after he became part owner of the NBA franchise.

Brady is currently slated to take up the first season of a ten-year deal with Fox as their lead colour commentator in the 2024 season, a deal which will see him pocket $375million.
