Wide receivers are the rockstars of NFL teams. They make big plays, turbocharge offenses and frighten defenses.
Jaylen Waddle, Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson are just some of the superstar wideouts recently emerging from the draft.
Elite wide receivers can change an NFL team. Teams covet world-class wide receivers.
And the 2024 NFL Draft features some excellent prospects. Here is DAZN's list of top five wide receivers in the 2024 NFL Draft.
1. Marvin Harrison Jr - Ohio State University
Following his Hall of Famer father's footsteps, Marvin Harrison Jr is the best wide receiver in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The Ohio State product is arguably the most talented player in the NFL Draft. He owns elite speed, ball tracking, catching and outrageous body control.
Harrison is a two-time unanimous All-American and the 2023 Fred Biletnikoff Award winner. Over three seasons at Ohio State, Harrison tallied 32 total touchdowns.
Some experts think Harrison could be the best wide receiver in the NFL.
2. Malik Nabers - Louisiana State University
Hot on Harrison's heels is LSU's Malik Nabers. Nabers is a freak athlete. He is the fastest wide receiver in the draft. A four-star recruit, Nabers ran a 4.4-second 40-yard dash in 2021.
He is a walking big play waiting to happen. At LSU, Nabers totalled 3003 receiving yards. He is the school's record holder for receiving yards.
Teams value speedy wide receivers. Stretching defences and frightening teams with sheer speed is a coveted asset.
Nabers ticks both boxes.
3. Rome Odunze - University of Washington
Washington's Rome Odunze is not as explosive as Nabers or as complete as Harrison, but he is an excellent, aggressive pass-catcher.
Odunze emerged in 2023. He scored a career-best 13 touchdowns and recorded a career-best 1428 receiving yards.
Odunze helped power Washington to a National Championship appearance. A 2023 consensus All-American, Odunze uses a 6' 3" frame as the base for his solid catching skills.
Odunze is adept at completing contested catches and physically beating defensive backs.
A reliable red zone threat, Odunze is a physical wideout with a fierce competitive streak.
4. Troy Franklin - Oregon
Like Malik Nabers, Troy Franklin is a frighteningly fast receiver. The 21-year-old has three years of college experience. He made his Oregon debut as a freshman in 2021.
Franklin is agile. He possesses excellent balance, body control and elite deep-field speed. There are concerns over how raw he is, and some question whether he is too light to withstand the NFL physicality.
Franklin is a burner. He can blow past defenders and create explosive passing plays.
5. Ladd McConkey - University of Georgia
Ladd McConkey is one of the best technicians in the NFL Draft. The 22-year-old's smooth route-running and fast feet help him find open passing zones all over the field.
A two-time National Champion, McConkey is an intriguing slot wide receiver. He is a metronomic pass-catcher with an outstanding football IQ.
With NFL offenses now favouring reliable midfield pass-catchers, McConkey might be the best wideout in this category.
