Divisional rivals renew hostilities

Rivals for nearly 50 years, the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles clash for the second time in 2023. At 6-1, the Eagles are soaring to another playoff berth. A 31-17 victory over the Miami Dolphins underlined Philadelphia's Super Bowl credentials.

However, Philadelphia will know that the Commanders are tough to beat. Washington handed Philadelphia their first loss last season and has matched well with the Eagles over the previous few seasons.

The Commanders pushed Philadelphia to overtime in the first game between these two. The Eagles emerged 34-31 winners in that one. Sam Howell played brilliantly in that game, and he will need more grit and courage in this rematch.

Washington lost 14-7 to the New York Giants last Sunday and are now 3-4. Howell ate more sacks in that game, and the second-year starter is taking a pummelling.

Will the Eagles deliver yet more punishment? Or will Washington and Howell find the same magic they played with in Philadelphia?

Here's everything you need to know ahead of Commanders vs. Eagles.
