In a rare Tuesday matchup, the Dallas Cowboys host the Baltimore Ravens to close Week 13 of the 2020 NFL schedule.
These teams have only met five times before, with the Ravens winning the first four meetings before Dallas claimed the latest — a 27-17 result on Nov. 20, 2016. Four years is a long time between games, and neither team looks much like the ones that squared off in 2016, but a common thread between the current squads is how they're both struggling heading into Tuesday's encounter.
The Cowboys (3-8) are in last place in the worst division in the league. Dallas has the most porous defence in the NFL (32.64 points per game allowed) and ranks in the bottom half on offence. They've lost five of their last six games and only topped 20 points once in that span (a 31-28 win over the Vikings in Week 11).
Meanwhile, the Ravens (6-5) have been in a free fall since the beginning of November, with four losses out of five games during that timeframe. They've also had their schedule rejigged due to COVID-19 concerns, although 2019 NFL MVP Lamar Jackson and several of his teammates are expected to return just in the nick of time for the suddenly beleaguered team.
With both teams desperate for a victory, Tuesday's matchup is as close to a must-win as there is with just four regular-season games to follow.
