No division is tighter than the NFC West, with the first-place team (Seahawks) sporting just two more wins than the fourth-place 49ers. Additionally, the second and third-placed teams (Cardinals and Rams, respectively) can each tie the division leader's record with a victory on Sunday.
That sets up Week 10 quite nicely as the Seahawks (6-2) travel to Los Angeles to take on the Rams (5-3) in a matchup that could have far-reaching consequences for the division.
Seattle heads into Sunday's game having lost two of their last three. Prior to losing to the Bills last week, the Seahawks' other defeat came at the hands of the division-rival Cardinals. Now Russell Wilson and Co. look to avoid another loss at the hands of an NFC West foe in the Rams.
Los Angeles has also lost two of its last three games, and one of those defeats — a 24-16 loss to the 49ers in Week 6 — also came to a division rival. The Rams have been far less consistent than the Seahawks this season, with most of their wins coming against lesser opposition (including all four teams from the beleaguered NFC East). However, their Week 7 victory over the Bears shows that the Rams can pose a threat to the better teams in the league — including Seattle.
