The Jacksonville Jaguars' faithful are hoping their franchise quarterback will be OK.

A thrilling Monday Night Football game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars ended on a game-winning field goal as the Bengals were able to eke out an overtime road victory.

However, despite the Jaguars' loss, which dropped them to 8-4, their bigger concern was the status of Trevor Lawrence.

The franchise quarterback left the game late in the fourth quarter after having the inside part of his right ankle stepped on by his offensive lineman Walker Little. Lawrence's weight then fell backwards onto the ankle in an injury not for the squeamish. Lawrence attempted to get up, but fell back down in pain and threw his helmet off in frustration thereafter. He needed assistance to walk off the field.

So what's the status update on Lawrence's injury?

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that initial testing showed that Lawrence sprained his ankle on the play.

Jaguars coach Doug Pederson told media members during the post-game press conference: "I don't have any information yet on Trevor. We're still evaluating him. So he'll have more tests and things done here tonight and tomorrow, so I'll probably have a better update for you [Tuesday] on that."

With Monday night's loss, the Jaguars still have the lead in the AFC South, but Lawrence's injury could shake up the division depending on his status moving forward.

Lawrence has thrown for 2,746 and 12 touchdowns this season, while also tossing seven interceptions. He has also rushed for 248 yards and four touchdowns this year — his third season at the helm for the Jaguars.
