The NFL Hall of Fame Game signals the start of the new season each year.
This year's installment from the Canton, Ohio backdrop pits the Cleveland Browns against the New York Jets on Thursday evening, live on DAZN.
Both the Browns and Jets finished well under .500 last year in the AFC North and AFC East division, respectively, with each squad looking to get their 2023 campaign started on a positive note.
Most notable will be the Jets' debut of Aaron Rodgers, the four-time league MVP and former Super Bowl champion and MVP.

How the Browns and Jets did last season
The Browns went 7-10 last season, as the only team in the AFC North to finish under .500.
The Jets also recorded a 7-10 season for 2022, also finishing in last place in the AFC East.
Quarterback Picture
In six games for the Browns last season, Deshaun Watson completed 58 percent of his passes for 1,102 yards and seven touchdowns, while throwing five interceptions. He also rushed for 175 yards and a TD.
Playing in his 18th season with the Green Bay Packers last year, Rodgers completed nearly 65 percent of his passes for 3,695 yards and 26 touchdowns, while throwing 12 interceptions. The latter was his second-highest interception total for a season over his storied career.
Defense
The Browns defense allowed an average of 22.4 points per game last season. Browns defensive end Myles Garrett ranked third in the NFL in sacks last year with a recorded 16.
The Jets touted one of the stingiest defenses in the NFL last season, allowing an average of 18.6 points per game. Jets linebacker C.J. Myles ranked Top 10 in the league last year for tackles with 158.
