A postseason run is within reach.

After starting the season 1-5, the idea of reaching the playoffs seemed a long shot at best for the Denver Broncos.

But after five straight wins, the AFC West side are still in contention with three weeks to go in the regular season.

They will still need favours from others, as Sean Payton's side are currently the 11th seed in the AFC with a record of 7-7.

What is on Denver's side is their remaining games, against the New England Patriots, Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders - all teams with little to no chance of making the playoffs.

The New York Times' analysis gives Denver just a 24% chance of reaching the playoffs before Week 16, but that number shoots up to 87% if they can win their remaining three games.

The Broncos' chances will increase with each defeat suffered by AFC North teams, the Buffalo Bills, Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans.

Who do the Broncos still have to play?

  • Week 16 vs. Patriots
  • Week 17 vs. Chargers
  • Week 18 at Raiders
